Scott “Chewy” Alan Waldron passed at age 53 from natural causes on Saturday, September 16, 2006. Chewy was born on November 8, 1952 and was introduced to his new life of recovery on July 4, 1995. Since that date he has remained a recovering addict through continuous abstinence from all mind altering and mood changing drugs until he passed, and now we consider him recovered. He will always be remembered for his dedicated service in helping drug addicts find recovery through the Narcotics Anonymous fellowship and as an employee of Alpha Recovery Centers – Brunswick. He is also remembered for his service to the United States as a Navy Corpsman from 1971 – 1975. He is survived by his son Christopher Alfred Waldron, of Woodstock, GA, who is currently serving in the United States Army; his daughter Laura Jane Waldron, also of Woodstock, GA; his mother Naomi DelVecchio of Westchester, PA; his sister Adrienne Sanchez of Lanoka Harbor, NJ; his brother Alfred Michael DelVecchio of Westchester, PA; and Scott and Marilyn Maddox of Atlanta, GA and the other members of Narcotics Anonymous in the North Atlanta Area and the Coastal Area (Brunswick). Memorial Services to be held at Brunswick Memorial Park on Wednesday, September 20th at 3:00 p.m.,  to be immediately followed by the 1st annual “Chewy-Cue”  at Alpha Recovery Centers – Brunswick, 10 Alpha Circle, Brunswick, GA 31525. The deceased asked that this annual fundraiser be used to fund H.O.W.Co. – The Adam Haslam Foundation in helping addicts to receive treatment for substance abuse.
